My mission is to provide structured, evidence-based EMDR therapy for adults experiencing trauma and PTSD. I am committed to delivering treatment grounded in careful clinical assessment, professional containment and ethical practice. The focus of my work is to support safe, effective and appropriately paced trauma processing.
My vision is to offer a specialist trauma-focused service centred on EMDR expertise rather than general counselling. I aim to provide a calm, professionally contained therapeutic environment where structured trauma treatment can take place safely. Through this specialist model, I seek to contribute to improved access to high-quality trauma therapy across Birmingham and the UK.
My practice is guided by clinical rigour, structured assessment and thoughtful preparation before trauma processing begins. Safety, containment and appropriate therapeutic pacing are central to all work undertaken. I am committed to maintaining integrity, confidentiality and adherence to recognised ethical and professional standards.
Farishta Jalal is a trauma-focused psychotherapist specialising in EMDR therapy for PTSD and complex trauma.
With over 14 years of clinical experience, the majority of her practice has centred on structured trauma processing using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
She provides private EMDR therapy in Birmingham and online across the UK for adults experiencing trauma, intrusive memories, emotional dysregulation and distress linked to past experiences.
Her approach integrates trauma-informed principles, structured clinical assessment and careful stabilisation to ensure safe and effective trauma processing.
In addition to weekly EMDR therapy, she offers structured EMDR Intensive Programmes for clients seeking focused trauma treatment delivered over extended sessions.
All therapy is provided with professional containment, careful screening and ongoing supervision.
Getting an accurate diagnosis can be one of the most impactful experiences that you can have.
